Annie Leibovitz was born in Connecticut. She attended the San Francisco Art Institute and became interested in photography after traveling to Japan. Upon returning to the U.S. in the 1970s, she began shooting for the magazine, Rolling Stone. She has gone on to create some of the most iconic celebrities portraits in American popular culture.
